Nearly $10,000 was raised at the reception Thursday evening, June 5 when more than 50 Eric Fund supporters joined the festivities at Policy Restaurant while even more contributed online.
We are especially grateful to our donor/sponsors who contributed 30 different items for the silent auction that generated spirited bidding by our guests. Considering the available items, it’s no wonder.
Not only was there a fabulous Martha’s Vineyard vacation home available but gift certificates from 10 local restaurants: Policy, Le Diplomate, Matchbox, El Centro, Masa 14, Noodles, Ulah, The Fainting Goat, Tunnicliffs Tavern and Nellie’s Sports Bar; a ZipCar membership; $100 cut and style at Celadon Spa Salon; 2 sets of prime tickets to Washington Nationals and a signed baseball worth $100; 5 lbs. of Starbucks coffee; 5 spinning classes at Wired Cycling
They also bid on a $100 gift certificate from Caramel Boutique; on wine from Schneider’s of Capitol Hill and Calvert-Woodley; membership and training sessions at BodySmith Gym+Studios; a Trader Joes’ gift bag; a gift box from Cabot Creamery Coop; a swag bucket from Nellie’s Sports Bar and “Bartending for Change” T-shirts.
Supporters were treated to a warm welcome by the Policy staff who served yummy hors d’oeuvres along with beer and wine that came with their $50 donation.
Not only was it a fun evening, but it enriched The Eric Fund’s ability to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in the Washington area.
Stay tuned. We’re already planning the 2015 event!
